Activity program

The program of activities for the celebration of the 25A is established by the Organizing Committee, which studies and selects the ideas and proposals that are sent to it from the different levels of the university (Departments, Centers, Governing Team, Collegiate Bodies, etc.) as well as those that arise individually by the university staff, including the members of the Commission. Said program of activities is established in accordance with the Rector.

It is intended that there be a rich program where there is room for both academic, scientific, cultural, social and sports activities, as well as other activities with a broader perspective that show the path of the university in its 25 years of life and the vision of the future that it projects.

Traveling exhibition with the development of the university and its future projection

An itinerant exhibition has been designed, where you can see graphic material on the construction and development of the university, its scientific and academic achievements in these years, as well as information on its present situation and its projection for the future, using advanced technological resources. The exhibition plans to tour the different campuses of the university in successive periods of several weeks in the first quarter of the 2022-23 academic year.

Seminars and meetings on current issues

The university organizes a cycle of seminars and regular meetings on topics of current interest in the fields of education, science, health, politics, culture, sports, etc., with leading institutions and people from each field. These meetings can have various formats, as shown below.

The Rey Juan Carlos University, aware of the importance of publicizing and preserving historical heritage and its link with society, organizes a specialized seminar on the topics of University, Heritage and Social Commitment, organized by the areas of Contemporary History and History del Arte II of the URJC, in the Quintana center of the Madrid campus. The justification for this course is based on the dissemination of heritage values ​​and the social responsibility of the Rey Juan Carlos University, being organized and directed by professors Sara Núñez de Prado Clavell and Agustín Martínez Peláez. CONFERENCE AT THE ROYAL NATIONAL ACADEMY OF MEDICINE - World Vaccination Week

During the year 2021, vaccines have achieved a very notable impact; For this reason, the Royal National Academy of Medicine and the URJC Chair of Vaccinology want to contribute to World Vaccination Week with a scientific session in which the latest advances in this matter will be addressed.

There is a panel of speakers with extensive experience and recognized prestige, including representatives of the Ministry of Health to discuss the planning of vaccination strategies and the criteria for decision-making, specialists in Pediatrics and Preventive Medicine for the implementation of vaccination, both in children and adults, and specialists on vaccines and their correlate of protection.

Sport activities

Sports activities are very present in the celebration of the 25A of the university. It is planned to develop sports activities (athletics: "half-marathon" race, tournaments and competitions: tennis, paddle tennis, five-a-side football, canoeing, etc.) in which not only the university staff, but also nearby institutions, are involved. , such as City Councils, sponsoring companies, and the general public. The 21 km “half-marathon” university race is designed to take place in a circuit that includes the Alcorcón and Fuenlabrada campuses, and promotional material (merchandising) will be available bearing the 25th anniversary logo.

Other activities are also planned where creativity is reflected, with particular participation by students (exhibition of an electric racing car developed by Materials Engineering students, URJC Sports Summit meeting, etc.).

On the occasion of the commemorative events of the 25th anniversary of the URJC, the IV Charity Padel Tournament was held on the university's Alcorcón campus, with the participation of a hundred couples, members of the URJC and citizens of the municipality of Alcorcón, and everything raised by the registrations was dedicated to the purchase of toys that were donated to hospitals in the southern area of ​​the Community of Madrid. The final phase was played on December 12, 2021, with the trophies being delivered to the champion and runner-up couples. College half-marathon race

The university organizes a 21 km “half-marathon” university race, in collaboration with the Fuenlabrada City Council, on a circuit approved by the Athletics Federation. At the same time, a shorter race of about 10 km will be held to give other runners the option to participate in the sporting event. The technical and security support typical of this type of activity (local police, medical assistance, etc.) is planned. Electric racing car: exhibition

Former URJC students, from the URJC Mechanical Engineering area, designed and developed a high-performance Formula 1 electric racing car prototype, directed by their teachers. This car is now on display for the 25th anniversary of the university.

Virtual Museum of the Rey Juan Carlos University

The URJC creates its own virtual museum, on the occasion of the 25A, to be able to freely access through a web page the pieces of art and selected objects that the university has on its various campuses. This museum will remain permanently once the anniversary celebration is over.

The official inauguration of the Virtual Museum will take place on the occasion of the celebration of the "Seminar on university, heritage and social commitment", on October 18 at the Fuenlabrada campus. The inauguration of the virtual Museum will be carried out by the Rector of the URJC, and its directors, professors Agustín Martínez Peláez and Sara Núñez de Prado, will take part in it, followed by a tour of it.

The Italian professor and scientist Stefano Boccaletti, who was awarded Doctor Honoris Causa by the URJC in January 2015 (laudatio of the Professor of Applied Mathematics Regino Criado), gives a conference entitled "Fundamental Concepts of Complex Systems". Complex systems constitute an interdisciplinary research topic whose importance has been recognized with the award of the 2021 Nobel Prize in Physics to Professor Giorgio Parisi. Historical pieces of telecommunications

The exhibition of the selected pieces reveals the amazing evolution of telecommunications technology from the XNUMXth century to the present day, showing the evolution of such everyday objects as telephones and radios, and of such primitive communication techniques as the Morse system.

The exhibition is exhibited in Lecture Hall 3 of the Fuenlabrada Campus of the URJC, from April 22 to July 22, 2022, having been inaugurated by the Rector of the university on April 25.

Musical events

The URJC organizes, as the final act of the celebration of 25A, a Christmas concert that will take place in the Royal Pontifical Basilica of San Francisco el Grande (C/ San Buenaventura, 1, 2005 Madrid), on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 19:30 p.m. The URJC Choir and Orchestra will participate in it, under the direction of Gemma Camps, and the choir of the Musical “Los chicos del Coro”, directed by Rodrigo Álvarez. Access is free until full capacity


The URJC also organizes, in commemoration of its 25th Anniversary, an event consisting of the musical representation of "Los chicos del choro", the best soundtrack on the music scene, backed by the success of the film and acclaimed by audiences all over the world. The representation is at the Teatro La Latina in Madrid, on November 24 at 8 pm. This invitation is made to all members of the university, extendable to a companion. According to its protagonists, "in this show, the creative force of music reaches everyone's heart and opens the doors to camaraderie, solidarity and love."

The URJC organizes the “URJC 25th Anniversary Commemoration Party” with a musical event in collaboration with RNE-Radio 3, which will take place on September 29, 2022 from 18:00 p.m. on the Móstoles campus. It will be possible to attend the performance of seven avant-garde musical groups, according to the program, among which will be interspersed interviews by Radio 3 journalists with members of our university community: institutional representatives of the university, professors, researchers, students and college graduates. The celebration will last until 23 p.m.

25th Anniversary Commemorative Book

A commemorative book will be published for the 25th Anniversary of the URJC, in which the most relevant actions and data of the university in this period will be summarized.

The Solidarity Race is organized by the students of the Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences of the URJC, in the subject of Sports Management. The students themselves organize this sporting event for their own classmates, where they can apply the knowledge acquired in the classroom on the organization of sporting events.

The activity is organized on each of the University's campuses, with participation open to students of all degrees on that campus. Registration is done through the delivery of a non-perishable food product, which will later be donated to the Food Bank. Hence the name “Solidarity Race”.
