VIII URJC-IBM Smart Cities Seminar

On 15-11-22 the VIII URJC-IBM Smart Cities Seminar was held on the Fuenlabrada campus.

Organized by ETSIT professors Julio Ramiro and Felipe Alonso, it brought together more than 130 students from different degrees and URJC Faculties/Schools in the Assembly Hall of the Management building.

The Inauguration was attended by the Councilor for Sustainable Urban Development of the Fuenlabrada City Council, the Head of Relations with Universities at IBM and the Academic Director of the Office of the Vice President for Innovation and Transfer.

Companies such as IBM in areas of Quantum Computing and IOT, or Telephone, that centers the focus of the seminar on 5G technology.

Professors from our university from multidisciplinary areas such as Language or Applied Economics and Entrepreneurship participated; Research professors of the “Smart E2” Chair of the URJC, small and medium-sized companies in the energy consulting sector and the field of public administrations (Fuenlabrada City Hall, Municipal Housing Institute, Region of Madrid), as well as prominent representatives of the private business sector, both technological and legal (Uria & Menendez). Highlight the final presence of a student from our School who has founded a company of picosatellites that provide coverage to IOT environments (pit Systems).
