Cooperation or nothing: bringing the university closer to the challenges of sustainable human development

What role should the university community play in the face of challenges such as global inequality,
The climate crisis or poverty? What kind of knowledge and technology do we need?
to confront them? The cycle Cooperation or nothing: bringing the university closer to the challenges of the
Sustainable human development proposes a critical reflection on the causes and
implications of the global crisis we are going through.
 
Through various activities that will take place during the month of April, teachers,
Students and staff of the Rey Juan Carlos University will have the opportunity to
approach issues related to justice and the environment from critical perspectives
global sustainability, and explore the potential of the university as an engine of change.
 
The cycle includes two spaces for dialogue:
  • Beyond Technology: Debunking Myths about International Cooperation will take place on April 9 (from 13.00:15.00 p.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.) and will showcase ONGAWA's experience working for the rights to water and sanitation in Mozambique, one of the world's most impoverished countries.
  • Beyond the Count: (Seriously) Incorporating Gender Justice into Ecosocial Transitions, will be held on April 23 (13.00:15.00-XNUMX:XNUMX PM) and will address the role of women as protagonists of the changes necessary to advance justice and sustainability.
 
Both spaces will take place in the Seminar 027 classroom of the Departmental Building I in
the Fuenlabrada Campus of the URJC.
 
All activities are free, independent of each other, and open to students,
URJC faculty and staff. The series is an ONGAWA initiative in collaboration
with the URJC and has the support of the Fuenlabrada City Council.
 
0.2 RAC credits will be awarded for attending this activity.
