The Institute of Materials Science of Madrid (ICMM) and the Higher Center for Scientific Research (CSIC) have organized the second edition of the “Nanosciences in 60 seconds” contest, a pioneering initiative aimed at students of Compulsory Secondary Education, Baccalaureate and Higher Education Centers. Education for Adults (CEPA) throughout Spain, whose objective is to make visible and promote the role of women in science, especially in the field of nanotechnology. The contest invites students to select one of the 60 outstanding nanoscientists present in its catalogue, research the life and work of these scientists and create an informative video that summarizes their contributions to the nano world.
Our colleague Lorena González Gómez, ESCET teacher and researcher, of the Evalkalim II project has been selected in this catalog by a 3rd year ESO student from the Litterator school. Among the more than 250 videos presented, this student's video stood out for her exceptional work on our school's researcher. Her video has been selected as one of the 20 finalists, and she now has the chance to win with the “likes” her video receives before May 29. The “Nanosciences in 60 Seconds” contest not only encourages interest in science among young people, but also highlights the importance of gender equality in the scientific field.
