The Ciberimaginario Group, third prize in the Call for the VII Scientific Dissemination Awards of the Rey Juan Carlos University.

The «Recycle and Tell About It, Driven by Professor Manuel Gértrudix and developed by the Ciberimaginario Group, it has obtained the third prize in the Scientific Dissemination Awards competition, which in its seventh edition has been organized by the Scientific Culture Unit of the Rey Juan Carlos University.

The award was presented on December 2nd during the fifth edition of "Science Is You", and was accepted by Prof. Mª Carmen Gertrudis and Mª Carmen Gálvez, on behalf of the rest of the Ciberimaginario Group.

Recycle and Tell About It It was developed in November 2024, as a citizen science activity, within the framework of the European Week for Waste Reduction – WWR 2024Its main objective has been to promote interaction between students of the Rey Juan Carlos University and the citizens of Fuenlabrada. The participants developed communicative content that reflected local actions related to sustainability, sustainable resource management, and waste, creating it through a gymkhana which was held at the Fuenlabrada Fixed Recycling Center.

The activity has been part of the project eCOMCIENCE and the initiative Climate Warriors, focused on raising awareness and educating about the circular economy and the efficient management of household waste.

The activity was the result of collaboration between the Fuenlabrada City Council, the Chair of Circular Economy of the URJC, and the Ciberimaginario research group, and was supported by the call for Aid to the Promotion of Academic Activities of the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the URJC.
