Rashidatu Kamara, the first woman from the Women for Africa Foundation to become a doctor

Posted by Francisco G. Esquer

Last Tuesday, October 28, Rashidatu obtained her doctoral degree from our University.

The thesis was supervised by Dr. Juan Emilio Losa, associate professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences and head of the Infectious Diseases Department at the Alcorcón University Hospital Foundation. Rashidatu is originally from, lives in, and works in Sierra Leone, one of the poorest countries in the world, and his thesis focused on the health and social determinants that influence the treatment of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis. The project was carried out through a grant awarded by the Chair of Humanitarian Medicine, directed by Dr. Ángel Gil.
