The II Solidarity Week ends at the URJC University Clinic

The II Solidarity Week of the University Clinic, organized in collaboration with the Alcorcón City Council and the Alcorcón Red Cross, has collected almost 400 kg of non-perishable food, personal hygiene products and cleaning products, which will go to families in vulnerable situations of area

 

Many workers, students and patients of the Clinic, as well as residents of the area, have approached the solidarity collection point set up at the University Clinic to collaborate with the initiative, aware of the difficult situation that many families in the town are going through, due to to the health and social crisis in which we find ourselves.

The director of the Clinic, Diego Gómez-Costa, has expressed his great satisfaction with the collaboration received. “At the Clinic, in addition to attending to the health needs of our patients, we are committed to contributing as much as possible to the social fabric, especially in these times of crisis. It is satisfying to know that the products collected, thanks to the collaboration of many people, will help alleviate the difficult situation that so many families are going through as a result of the pandemic.”

The II Solidarity Week also had the presence of Victoria Meléndez, Councilor for Social Services, the Elderly and Public Health of the Alcorcón City Council; Saturnino Peña, president of the Alcorcón Red Cross, and Ángel Lizcano, vice-dean of Academic Planning at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Rey Juan Carlos University, who visited the Clinic to thank the participants and volunteers who have made this II possible Solidarity Week.
