El OSCE exam (Structured Objective Clinical Assessment) is used to assess the acquisition of specific skills in health sciences undergraduate students. On June 5, the Medicine OSCE took place at the Rey Juan Carlos University Hospital (news here). This week (June 15) it was the turn of Dentistry and Psychology, who organized their tests at the Faculty of Health Sciences.
OSCE Dentistry
48 students faced 8 stations with clinical cases related to the knowledge areas of the degree. The first five stations were carried out in the university clinic, specifically in clinics C and D.
Subsequently, the students completed another 3 stations in which they had to solve specific questions about clinical images of real cases.
The test started at 8 in the morning and ended at 10.30:XNUMX in the morning.

OSCE Psychology
110 students showed up. For the test, the Aula Magna, classrooms 004 and 005 of Lecture Hall 1 and computer rooms 104 (Lecture Hall 1), 102 (Lecture Hall 2) and A020 (Library) were used.
The students faced the resolution of different practical problems identifiable with the different areas of knowledge of Psychology. In this way, aspects such as:
- Analysis of learning principles and basic psychological processes (attention, memory, etc.)
- Analysis of risk factors and the therapeutic approach of a case in the educational and developmental context
- Interpretation of neuropsychological evaluation reports and protocols
- Application of data analysis for reliable and valid decision making in the selection of psychological intervention strategies
- Comprehensive approach to a clinical case in the aspects of evaluation, diagnosis, functional analysis and intervention
- Analysis of the different aspects of a social intervention (needs, context and intervention techniques)
- Evaluation and analysis of a people management situation, specifically in the selection process
The presentation of the problems to be solved included the use of interactive graphic diagrams, high-resolution images and videos created specifically for the test with the participation of professional actors.
