Zero alcohol in pregnancy, everyone's responsibility

El September 9 is World Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Day. Every year, it is celebrated on the 9th day of the 9th month to remind us of the importance of avoiding alcohol during the 9 months of pregnancy.

The main target is to raise awareness of the need to reduce alcohol consumption during pregnancy to zero to avoid possible harm to the baby. Physical and mental deficiencies that can manifest at birth or later during development, that will affect you throughout your life and that are 100% preventable. That's the good news: FASD is easy to prevent by simply not drinking alcohol from the time pregnancy is planned until after breastfeeding.

But not all the pressure should be put on the pregnant woman. The responsibility must be shared by all those who are part of her environment, starting with her partner.
