IV edition of the session of closed interuniversity clinical cases

Posted by McG

Last Friday, the 25th, the IV Interuniversity Session of closed clinical cases was held between the faculties of Medicine of the four public universities of Madrid

The activity took place in the Ramón y Cajal Amphitheater of the Faculty of Medicine of the Complutense University. It is a teaching project started in 2019, in which a team from a university proposes a clinical case for discussion and a team from another university discusses it in a collaborative session between 6th-year students from the different faculties.

Four cases were presented in which all the faculties participated with proponent teams and discussion teams tutored by professors from each of the hospitals.

The clinical cases were the following: Diarrhea and Weight Loss (proposed by the URJC and discussed by the UCM); Do I see something that is not there? (proposes the UCM and discusses the UAH); Edema of the face and arthralgia (proposed by the UAH and discussed by the UAM) and Increased MSD Perimeter and Hemiface Swelling (proposed by the UAM and discussed by the URJC).

This activity, which develops clinical reasoning, also allows a greater rapprochement between the different faculties and the students themselves in a teaching context that is very different from the traditional one, and the attendees expressed their satisfaction with the celebration of this event.

The URJC teams that held the exhibition were made up of Marta Corcuera Munguía and Gonzalo Bautista Fernández from the Móstoles University Hospital and Nuria Mayor Moreno, Carolina Rodriguez Gilabert and Sara Medina López from the Alcorcón Foundation University Hospital.
