The Cecilia Conde Awards receive this name as a tribute to the first collegiate and president of the Management Board that promoted the creation of the Association in 1997. The awards were presented at the Royal Palace of Madrid on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the association.
In these awards, the teacher Cesar Fernandez de las Penas of the Department of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine of the URJC, received the Cecilia Conde Award for the Greatest Involvement with the CPFCM.
On the other hand, the CPFCM held an act at its headquarters during which the Awards for Best Doctoral Thesis and Best Publication were awarded. These awards are intended to promote research in physiotherapy.
According to the Best Doctoral Thesis, andhe jury awarded a special mention to Sarah Garcia Bravo, which achieved a score very close to the award, with the work entitled "Semi-immersive virtual reality and video games in cardiac rehabilitation programs in patients with ischemic heart disease in phase II”, directed by the teachers ofthe Department of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine of the URJC, Roberto Cano de la Cuerda and Alicia Cuesta Gomez.
As to Best Publication AwardThree prizes were awarded. The third prize was for a publication co-authored by our Faculty. In the article titled, "Muscle Work and Its Relationship with ACE and ACTN3 Polymorphisms Are Associated with the Improvement of Explosive Strength" published in the journal Genes (Basel) in 2021, the teacher participatesthe Department of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine of the URJC, Sofia Laguarta Val. The first signatory of the article is Alberto Melián, from the Pontifical University of Salamanca and the FREMAP Hospital.
