Occupational therapy is a health profession, whose objective is to ensure that people with some restriction in participation within their environment, can develop their activities of daily life independently and autonomously. The World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) defines Occupational Therapy as "a profession that deals with the promotion of health and well-being through occupation. The main target of occupational therapy is to enable people to participate in the activities of daily living. Occupational therapists achieve this outcome by enabling individuals to perform those tasks that will optimize their ability to participate, or by modifying the environment so that it enhances participation."

This year's theme is: Opportunity + Choice = Justice
