PRESENTATION
As Director of the Center for Research in Ibero-American Studies (CEIB), I am pleased to present this page, the main purpose of which is to offer information on the objectives and activities of the Center and, ultimately, to contribute from the latter to disseminating Ibero-Americanism in all its aspects and dimensions, favoring scientific reflection and fostering relations in the Ibero-American space.
Those of us who work at the Center are convinced that, gradually, the objectives we have set for ourselves will be achieved but, above all, we are aware that the foundations of our action, academic, teaching and research, are the following:
In the first place, the affirmation and consolidation of the Ibero-American identity at the international level, in our case by carrying out studies, analyzes and reports on the Ibero-American reality in all its dimensions.
Secondly, to promote and favor exchange in the Ibero-American Space for Higher Education, devoting efforts to cooperation in the development of courses, seminars and teaching and research activities that focus on the Ibero-American reality.
Finally, place our action within the framework of the principles that inspire and guide the Ibero-American Community of Nations, in particular, through the positions assumed within the Ibero-American Conference. From this perspective, the validity of international law, the affirmation of democracy and respect for human rights, as well as the economic and social development of the Ibero-American region, must be the criteria on which the action of the Research Center is based. in Iberoamerican Studies.
