Presentation

The microcredential offers specialized and applied training in judicial facilitation to support people with disabilities in judicial proceedings, with attention to procedural accessibility, adapted communication, technical support and interdisciplinary intervention.

The proposal responds to the recent regulatory evolution in matters of disability, access to justice and support for the exercise of legal capacity, with special reference to Law 8/2021, of June 2, and Decree 52/2024, of May 8, of the Community of Madrid, which regulates the figure of the expert facilitator staff and requires specialized training for the performance of these functions.

The program adopts a professional and interdisciplinary approach, integrating tools from Social Work, Forensic Social Work, Law, mediation, collaborative conflict management, and socio-legal intervention. Collaboration with external entities is not anticipated.

From the perspective of the Sustainable Development Goals, the microcredential contributes especially to SDG 4 (quality education), SDG 5 (gender equality), SDG 10 (reduced inequalities) and SDG 16 (peace, justice and strong institutions).

Objectives

General objective: to provide specialized and applied training in judicial facilitation and conflict management in socio-legal and socio-labor contexts, enabling students to intervene professionally in situations of vulnerability, disability and complex conflict through procedural accessibility tools, adapted communication, technical support and interdisciplinary intervention.

  • Apply judicial facilitation tools and adapted communication to promote the effective participation of people with disabilities or in vulnerable situations in judicial proceedings and institutional contexts.
  • Identifying support needs, accessibility and procedural adjustment in situations of socio-legal intervention and socio-labor conflict.
  • Use mediation, facilitation and collaborative conflict management techniques in complex professional and organizational environments.
  • Designing strategies for technical support and interdisciplinary intervention from the perspectives of Social Work and Labor Law.
  • Develop professional communication skills, active listening and relational management in socio-legal intervention processes.
  • Develop intervention and support proposals adapted to different complex judicial, institutional and socio-labor contexts.

The microcredential is primarily aimed at university graduates and professionals linked to fields related to Social Work, Forensic Social Work, Law, Labor Relations and Human Resources, Psychology, Criminology, Social Education, mediation, social intervention, conflict management, disability, accessibility and socio-legal or socio-labor intervention.

  • Preferential access: people with an official university degree corresponding to level MECES 2 or higher.
  • Students enrolled in official university studies who need to complete a maximum of 30 ECTS credits to obtain the corresponding official university degree will also be eligible.
  • Exceptionally, professionals without prior official university qualifications who can demonstrate relevant professional experience in facilitation, mediation, social intervention, technical support, disability, conflict management, socio-labor guidance or socio-legal intervention may be admitted.
  • No specific additional training is required. Analytical skills, basic interpersonal communication skills, an interest in interdisciplinary intervention, sensitivity towards situations of social vulnerability and disability, and functional proficiency in virtual learning environments are recommended.

Selection criteria

  • Professional experience related to facilitation, mediation, social intervention, conflict management, disability, socio-labor guidance or socio-legal intervention: 50%.
  • Specialized supplementary training in mediation, facilitation, accessibility, disability, social intervention, conflict resolution or related fields: 25%.
  • Academic record: 15%.
  • Other relevant merits related to the field of the micro-credential: publications, participation in projects, teaching experience, institutional participation or activities linked to socio-legal and socio-labor intervention: 10%.

No. of places: 35 places offered. Minimum number of students required for delivery: 20.

In the event that the number of applications exceeds the number of places available, 1 place will be reserved for special quotas (people with disabilities, victims of terrorism and victims of gender violence), in accordance with the Regulations for Own Teachings of the URJC.

Microcredentials, intended for students with or without a previous official university degree.

These courses allow for the certification of learning results linked to short-term training activities. Their duration must, in any case, be less than 15 ECTS credits. Successful completion of these courses through the corresponding assessment tests will entitle the student, where appropriate, to obtain a Certificate with the name of the respective course and will be included in the centralised Register of this type of qualification. In the event that they do not include assessment tests, a certificate of attendance will be obtained.
