Basic Information

Home

The basis of audiovisual communication is image and sound, and the journalist's voice is extremely important to truthfully communicate information.

Why does one voice sound good to us and not another? What are the keys to getting it to “sound” well, convincing, interesting, so that our voice hooks whoever hears us? A locution will be good when it manages to COMMUNICATE, reach the recipient of the message, whether listener or viewer, and that the latter clearly understands said message. That, and no other, is the fundamental objective of the audiovisual journalist. To make COMMUNICATION effective, it is essential to know what is being read=said=counted. We have to convey the message in question with credibility and conviction. Emphasis, therefore, is a very important resource in speech, which does not mean that it should be used indiscriminately or in all circumstances.

Objectives

In this course numerous speech exercises will be carried out in which all the elements that intervene in verbal communication will be worked on: emphasis, intention, naturalness, diction, rhythm, volume... The necessary resources will also be practiced to carry out “live” announcements, that is, interventions by reporters, live or recorded, whether it be an intro, medianilla, salidilla or small situational connection with outreach or breaking news. With the exercises, the student will discover their weak points, vices or defects when facing the reading of a text, and will know resources to correct them and thus enhance the virtues of their VOICE.
