What knowledge will I acquire with this Master?
Through the simultaneous academic program of a double Master's Degree in Law and Economic Criminal Law, the Rey Juan Carlos University aims to facilitate the integration of specialized training in Economic Criminal Law provided by the Master's Degree in Economic Criminal Law with the required training by current regulations for the acquisition of the necessary skills for the practice of law and procurement through the Master's Degree in Law.
The double degree enriches the training of students, by adding to the legal training required for access to the legal profession a specialization component in a branch of criminal law of exceptional weight and importance and, from a professional point of view, the set of Skills whose acquisition the program guarantees will place those who pass it in optimal conditions to successfully face the practice of law in matters related to economic crime.
Is this degree official according to the regulations required by the European Higher Education Area?
Yes, both University Master's degrees have been evaluated by ANECA and have a favorable final verification report.
Recommended income profile
In accordance with article 3.3 of Royal Decree 64/2023, of February 8, the Master's Degree in Law and Procurement is aimed at students with an official university degree of Licenciatura or Law Degree, therefore this degree is required to study the Double Master's program.
There is no possibility of conditional enrollment in the double master's degree before the complete completion of the degree studies in Law, in accordance with the provisions of article 18.4 of Royal Decree 822/2021, of September 28 and the internal regulations of the King Juan Carlos University.
Objectives
The general objective of the Online Law and Procurement Double Master's Program + Economic Criminal Law is, on the one hand, to provide students with quality training that allows them to pass the national evaluation established in article 7 of Law 34/2006, in relation to with articles 16 and following of RD 64/2023, in order to obtain the professional title for the practice of Law and Prosecution and, once the title is obtained, to function safely and correctly in the exercise of the respective profession. On the other hand, it seeks to complement the general training provided through the Master's Degree in Law and Prosecution with highly specialized training on the response of the legal system to economic crime provided by the Master's Degree in Economic Criminal Law. Thus, the Double Master's Program is sought to provide the precise knowledge, skills and competencies to carry out professional activity in a highly complex and specialized sector that requires complementary training to that obtained in the Master's Degree in Law and Procurement.
Admission and enrollment
Informative note on the obligation to possess an official university degree or degree in Law as a prerequisite to access the University Master's Degree for access to specialized training.
Essential requirement to be able to access the double Master's Program in Law and Prosecution + Economic Criminal Law: Bachelor's Degree or Degree in Law (art. 3.3 Royal Decree 64/2023, of February 8).
The selection of applicants is carried out by those responsible for the two Masters and will be through the presentation of curriculum standardized with the specific profile required. For the selection criteria of professional experience, academic record and motivation will be met.
In the event that there are more applications than places offered, the allocation of places offered will be made in accordance with the grade obtained in the Academic record.
Offer of places: 10 places. If the minimum number of students expected in a course is not reached, the University may choose not to open the teaching group.

External Internships
The specific itinerary of the double Master's program includes the subjects External Practices I, worth 6 ECTS, to be carried out in the second semester, and External Practices II, worth 24 ECTS, which will be carried out in the third semester. Both subjects are part of the training itinerary of the Master in Law.
The subject External Practices 1, of 6 ECTS credits, is taken in the second semester and its content consists of visits to courts, penitentiary centers and other legal centers and institutions, under the tutelage of the person practicing law or the attorney to referred to in article 15.1 of the Regulation of Law 34/2006. The training activities of this subject are aimed at meeting the objectives indicated in article 13.1, sections b) and c) of the Regulations of the aforementioned Regulations, that is, becoming familiar with the operation and problems of institutions related to the practice of law and, where appropriate, of the procurement, and know the activity of other legal operators, as well as professionals related to the exercise of their profession.
External internships in law firms, institutions or entities related to the practice of law or procurement are completed in the third semester, through the incorporation of internship students to the entity that has been assigned to them. During the internship period, students participate in the legal activities of the firm, institution or entity, under the supervision of their professional tutor.
In the Double Master's Program Online Advocacy and Procurement + Economic Criminal Law, the External Internships II subject will include at least 25% of activities related to the skills and abilities necessary to practice law in the field of Economic Criminal Law.
Carrying out the double Master's internship under the above conditions implies recognition of the External Internship subject, worth 6 ECTS, of the Master's in Economic Criminal Law.
The program is developed in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation for External Academic Practices for university students, approved by the Governing Council of the Rey Juan Carlos University on May 6, 2022 (hereinafter RPE). In accordance with the RPE, external internships are carried out in collaborating entities that have signed an Educational Cooperation Agreement with the URJC in which the framework of relations between both parties and the students who carry out academic internships in the entity is regulated.
The internships are carried out in the established periods, under the supervision of the professional tutor that the entity must designate, in accordance with the provisions of article 23 of the RPE. During the internship period, the academic tutor will carry out the functions that correspond to him in accordance with the provisions of article 21 of the RPE. In the case of the Master's Degree in Law and Procurement, the legal or procuring professional referred to in article 15.1 of the Regulation of Law 34/2006, of October 30, on access to the professions of Law and The Attorney approved by Royal Decree 64/2023, will carry out the management and coordination functions of the team of professional tutors that legally correspond to it.
At the end of the internship period, the professional tutor's report and the student's report will be issued, with the academic tutor evaluating the internships in accordance with the provisions of article 26 of the RPE, as specified in section 5 below.

EVALUATION

- Article 6.1.2. The favorable resolution of the request for total cancellation of registration does not necessarily imply the refund of the amount paid by the student. To do this, the requirements established in the Article 10.3 of the present regulations.
- Article 11.3. The extension of the period of permanence will be requested through the procedure established for this purpose by the Rey Juan Carlos University in the electronic office, within the established period. The Rector may authorize the continuation of studies in those cases in which exceptional causes, duly documented, have affected the academic performance of the students., valid for that academic year (up to a maximum of one year).
- Article 11.4. In accordance with what is established by the Article 4 of these regulations, those students whose request to remain is resolved favorably will have to enroll in all the remaining subjects to complete their studies.
- Article 11.5. For subjects with an indefinite call, once the extension of the permanence period is granted, the fees corresponding to the second and successive registrations will be paid according to the corresponding Public Price Decree as long as they have been previously enrolled in that subject.
- Article 12.4. Once this is granted, the student must enroll in accordance with the provisions of the Article 4 of the present regulations.
- Article 12.5. For subjects with an indefinite call, once continuity in the University Master's studies is granted, the fees corresponding to the second and successive registrations will be paid according to the corresponding Public Price Decree as long as they have been previously enrolled in that subject.
