On April 23, the presentation of the volume took place in the Gran Galleria of the Reggia di Caserta. Princely Marginality? Women and Political Spaces in Modern EuropeThe book, co-edited by Professors E. Borgognoni and V. Lagioia, was presented as part of the exhibition. Regine. Trame di culture e diplomazia entre Napoli e l'Europe with the aim of strengthening the dialogue between the historiographical proposal of the volume and the current lines of research and dissemination on the role of women in European courts.

The event, held between 16:30 and 19:00 p.m., featured presentations by Professor Giulio Sodano (Università degli Studia della Campania Luigi Vanvitelli), who served as moderator, and Professor Vincenzo Lagioia (Università di Bologna), co-editor of the volume with Borgognoni. Also participating were architect Tiziana Maffei, Director General of the Royal Palace of Caserta, and Dr. Valeria Di Fratta, co-curator of the exhibition with Maffei.
The collective volume edited by Borg
Ognoni and Lagioia examine the multiple manifestations of power and female representation in Early Modern Europe. Starting from the notion of “princess marginality,” the collected works analyze how queens, princesses, infantas, and women of the high aristocracy developed strategies of action and visibility from peripheral positions within power structures, redefining these margins as spaces of political, symbolic, and dynastic intervention.
Professor Borgognoni's participation in this international event reinforces the academic projection of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the Rey Juan Carlos University in the field of studies on court, gender and political culture in Modern Europe, as well as its insertion into international networks of research and scientific dissemination.
