El investigador Pablo Ozcáriz Gil, professor in the area of Ancient History, has carried out a research stay in Pompeii between November 14 and 17. During his work, Ozcáriz Gil has identified nearly thirty pieces of common pottery and sealed with marks and registrations, contributing to the enrichment of knowledge about the graffiti of the time.
This research, part of "Graphites of the Ancient World" project (GRAMUNANT) financed by the King Juan Carlos University (2022-SOLICI-121604), is aligned with several of the research lines of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. It has revealed, for example, names of Pompeian citizens not recorded to date, providing new information on sociocultural aspects of ancient Pompeii. 
El focus of this investigation that the professor begins now covers the analysis of literacy and writing practices in these cities, as well as the understanding of the social and economic dynamics of the time. The work of Ozcáriz Gil, carried out in the context of the research groups HASTHGAR (URJC) and CEIPAC (UB), feel the bases for a more ambitious future project, Which aims to expand research to the entire Vesuvian area. With expanded resources, this project will seek delve into the study of epigraphs and other cultural expressions of the region, offering a more complete understanding of the historical and social context of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
