Maria Cristina Fernandez Laso, professor of the Human Geography area of the Faculty has inaugurated with the Atapuerca Foundation and the Caja Rural Foundation la Photographic exhibition "Women in Atapuerca" last September 24 at the Cajaviva-Caja Rural Foundation space in Burgos

Women's Exp in Atapuerca 21Fernández Laso is the curator of this exhibition that paims to make visible the role that women have played in the Atapuerca Project from their beginnings in 1978 until today. To this end, the Atapuerca Foundation and the curator They have selected 30 photographs that show the diversity of professional profiles - scientific, technical and coordination -, who have contributed to the success of the project, highlighting the evolution of its role over time. Many of these of they have a international recognition for his contribution to research and science.

Women in Atapuerca RRSSIn addition to being a professor at our Faculty, María Cristina Fernández Laso holds a PhD in Prehistory from the Rovira i Virgili University (URV) in Tarragona. and was linked to the Atapuerca Project between 1994 and 2010As she emphasizes, 'Women in Atapuerca' is “an essential resource for young people interested in human evolution and archaeology”, as well as for any student who wants to specialize in gender studies since Prehistory.

The exhibition can be visited until November 3, 2024 in the Cajaviva Caja Rural Exhibition Hall, Avenida de la Paz, 2. Burgos; Tuesday to Friday: 19:00 p.m. – 21:00 p.m. Saturdays: 12:00 p.m. – 14:00 p.m. and 19:00 p.m. – 21:00 p.m. Sundays: 12:00 p.m. – 14:00 p.m. Mondays: Closed.
