Summer course “Stage Costume: Body, Gender and Spaces”

The growing eye Plans Spanish productions in the digital audiovisual platforms, the capitality de Madrid in the field of musical theatre, the consolidation of the casts state y autonomic dedicated to the performing arts, the Peris' presence in Madrid –one of the biggest international tailors for film of the world–, among other factors, have stimulated interest in the design y making of stage costumes, have opened avenues for professionalization and encouraged research into the design of wardrobe for film, dance, theatre, opera, circus and other performing arts.

Before the lack of specific official studies, this summer course It proposes to start from the advances in research in this field, as well as from direct contact with the professionalization paths in this sector, to open a space for dissemination y debate on the past and present of stage costume design and production.

The topics addressed by the speakers who will participate in this conference not only cover the different performing arts, but also their implications in terms of gender, body and space, offering a multifaceted and interdisciplinary vision which aims to enrich the public to which this event is directed through scientific and professional rigor.
