academic waiver
- What is the Academic Waiver of Class Attendance (DAAC)?
The DAAC is a mechanism that exempts students from attending classes of those subjects whose Teaching guide contemplates the Academic Dispensation. Now this never “exempts from continuous evaluation and will be requested by enrollment and subject". The DAAC does not exempt students from participation in mandatory face-to-face activities determined by the teacher responsible for the subject and established in the Teaching Guide for the subject, such as exams, directed academic activities, practical work and mandatory assignments.”
Additionally, students should be aware that "It cannot be requested DAAC due to time incompatibility between subjects (for example, a timetable that coincides due to repeating a course)” (Article 41.3, Title IX of the Regulations for the Evaluation of Learning Results of the Rey Juan Carlos University).
- What are the requirements to request it?
Any FAH student can request the DAAC for as many enrolled subjects as he or she considers, provided that the student is in one of the situations detailed in article 41 of the Regulations for the Evaluation of Learning Outcomes of the Rey Juan Carlos University.
- What documentation should I attach?
Depending on the reason why the DAAC is requested, the documentation that must be attached varies:
- Employed worker: employment contract and certificate of working hours (in the same document).
- Self-employed worker: document that certifies your professional activity during the fiscal year of the academic year.
- ERASMUS scholarship holder: scholarship award certificate.
- Maternity/paternity leave: certificate.
- Leave due to chronic or unexpected illness: medical certificate.
- Care for a dependent family member: certificate from the corresponding entity.
- Elite athletes: certificate from the corresponding entity.
*Everything that is uploaded to the platform to demonstrate the student's situation must be in the same document.
- Where can I apply for the DAAC?
Through the platform. Link: https://gestion2.urjc.es/dispensa/
- Doubts:
For any questions, you can consult the following document: Title IX of the Regulations for the Evaluation of Learning Outcomes of the Rey Juan Carlos University
Additionally, you can contact the Faculty through email ; Remember to do it through your institutional email.
