The event, held between 11:00 AM and 14:00 PM in Building I of the Fuenlabrada campus, featured a comprehensive interdisciplinary program. Dr. Carmen Gómez Galisteo (UNED) gave a presentation on Jane Austen, her influence on contemporary culture, and her status as a pop icon, from a philological and cultural perspective. Manuel Macías Borrego, professor in the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting and the workshop's main organizer, presented the results of his research on pragmatic irony, gender, and discourse in Austen's work.

The theoretical presentations gave way to a practical, interdisciplinary workshop focused on translating and transmediating Jane Austen's work into contemporary audiovisual formats, especially reels. Participants in this activity included Carmen Gómez Galisteo (UNED), Jaime Oliveros, María Cornejo, Marina Piñero, and Manuel Macías (URJC).

During the day, the public explored how to reinterpret Austen's texts from a current philological perspective, transferring her characteristic ironic style and sharp social criticism to the brief and dynamic audiovisual language of social networks.
