El Consolidated Teaching Innovation Group in Didactics of Social Sciences and Citizenship Competence (GID-CISOCOMCIU) The King Juan Carlos University celebrated, last April 23th 2026, two academic seminars at FCEDEI, thus consolidating its commitment to teaching innovation, initial teacher training and knowledge transfer in the field of Social Science Didactics.

Both activities, developed at the Fuenlabrada Campus at the end of April and recognized with 0,4 ECTS credits, have been framed within the actions of research and educational innovation promoted by the group and had the financial support of the Faculty for the organization of academic activities.

During the event, the GID-CISOCOMCIU brought together specialists from various Spanish universities to reflect on active methodologies, digital narratives, heritage, virtual reality, and emerging technologies applied to education. The seminar “Active methodologies and geolocated digital narratives in educational contexts”The morning session addressed the potential of innovative tools such as StoryMaps and audiovisual narratives to foster critical social thinking and competency-based learning in the Social Sciences. In the afternoon, the seminar “Touch, explore, learn: The educational object in the era of virtual and augmented reality” He delved into the educational use of virtual laboratories, archaeological simulation, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence in the training of future teachers.

With these initiatives, the GID-CISOCOMCIU has reinforced its role as a benchmark for educational innovation within the URJC, promoting activities that connect research, university teaching and transfer to the educational communityThe seminars have also served to highlight teaching innovation projects and lines of research linked to the development of digital skills, heritage education and the critical integration of immersive technologies in teaching and learning processes.
