Last week, the 6st National Congress of Students of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences was held for the first time in history (from 8 to 8 November), followed by the 10th National Assembly of Students of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences (ANECAFYDE) (from XNUMX to XNUMX November). The ANECAFYDE presidency selected the Rey Juan Carlos University from among all the Spanish universities that teach the degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences to carry it out. The event has been organised by Diana Amado, Vice-Dean of Students and Mobility of the Faculty of Education and Sports and Interdisciplinary Studies of the URJC, the Vice-Rectorate of Sports of the URJC, the Higher Council of Sports, the COLEF Council, the Spanish Conference of Deans of Sports Sciences, the Spanish Association of Sports Sciences and the Sports Science Research Centre of the URJC.

The event was a huge success, with 300 students from all Spanish universities attending, and registrations had to be closed because the reserved facilities on the Fuenlabrada campus were full. In addition, on November 6 and 7, the sessions were broadcast on Stream with the charitable objective of supporting those affected by the DANA in Valencia.

The objectives of the event were:

Promote the exchange of knowledge, promote research and enhance students' sporting skills by promoting the National Association of Students of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences (ANECAFYDE).

Promote the practice of sport, physical exercise and physical activity, through physical-sports activities.

To provide knowledge to around 300 students of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences (CCAFYD) throughout the country through the most influential trainers in the physical activity and sports sector.

Promote the Degree and its professional opportunities, both for current and future students.

Based on these objectives, the congress organised five round tables on the main current areas of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences: profession and society, education, physical activity and health, management and physical preparation/performance, where the latest advances and topics of interest were presented and discussed by the best professionals.

At the same time, a competition was held among all Spanish universities for the best Final Degree Projects and Final Master's Projects in the different areas of Sports Science, as well as the holding of sports days to encourage socialisation among all the congressmen and to spread the values of sport.
