On September 24, the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences of the Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC) commemorated its traditional Faculty Day, a day that each year brings together the faculty's university community with representatives from the economic, business, and institutional worlds. This year's event brought together students, faculty, and administrative and service staff, in addition to the presence of renowned figures. Among those present were Ms. Amelia Pérez Zabaleta, Dean of the Madrid College of Economists. Also present were prominent academic authorities from the URJC, such as María Teresa Martín del Peso; Manager of the Madrid-Vicálvaro Campus; Darío Sánchez Villar; General Manager of the URJC; Ana Isabel Cid Cid; Vice-Rector for Quality, Degrees, and Specialized Studies; Eloísa Díaz Garrido; Director of the Department of Business Economics; Alberto Jiménez Suárez; Director of the URJC School of Official Master's Degrees; Miguel Baños González; Vice-Rector for Communication and University Outreach; Luis Tomás Díez de Castro; Professor of Economics and Business; Amelia Pérez Zabaleta; Dean of the Madrid College of Economists; Carlos Goicoechea; Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences; José Manuel Colmenar; Director of the School of Computer Engineering; Susana María García Moreno; Director of the Department of Business Economics (ADO); Ignacio Mauleón Torres; Professor of Fundamentals of Economic Analysis; María Enciso Alonso-Muñumer; Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences; Araceli Rodríguez Mateos; Vice-Rector for Teaching Staff; and Alicia Blanco González; Director of the Department of Business Economics.
The ceremony was presided over by Ángel de la Fuente Moreno, Executive Director of the Foundation for Applied Economic Studies (FEDEA), who received the award for Outstanding Economist of the Year 2025. In his speech, he addressed current economic challenges and the challenge of financing Spanish regional governments.
The event also included an emotional reminder to the teachers. Mrs. María Rosario Pacheco Olivares and Mrs. María Dolores Flecha Barrio, whose academic and human legacy remains in the memory of the entire university community of the faculty and university.
The meeting concluded with the presentation of awards to members of the university community in recognition of their dedication, effort, and contributions to the development of the Faculty.

- Best Master's Thesis Award: D. Fredrik Moroni Stulen, Master's Degree in International Economic Relations Analysis. Directed by José Antonio Mohedano Hernández.
- Alumni of the Year Award: Ms. Blanca Ochoa López, Business Development Manager for Italy, Portugal and Cyprus of the LIGA.
- Recognition of the Extraordinary Doctorate Awards: Ms. Sara Bermejo Olivas, Mr. Álvaro Hernández Tamurejo, Ms. Lydia Murillo Ramos and Ms. María Pilar Pascual Fraile.
- Award for the Best University Outreach Work: Mr. Carlos Aguado Franco, professor of Fundamentals of Economic Analysis at the URJC.
