The Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC) celebrated with great success the past April 9 the parade “From forgotten clothes to sustainable fashion treasures”, an innovative initiative that transforms forgotten garments into unique pieces, promoting the circular economy and sustainability in the university setting.

The event was opened by the rector of the URJCwho highlighted the institution's commitment to responsible practices and student creativity. The fashion show, which took place in a vibrant atmosphere, featured creations made from donated and reclaimed clothing, showcasing the talent of students and emerging designers in sustainable textile transformation.

The initiative, which began with the reuse of discarded clothing, evolved into a showcase of ethical fashion, featuring runway shows that fused contemporary design, upcycling, and environmental awareness. The event attracted the entire university community and a wider audience, establishing itself as a resounding success due to its visual impact, massive participation, and transformative message.

URJC reaffirms its leadership in transformative education through projects that combine creativity, social responsibility, and academic excellence. The community is invited to continue participating in future editions and similar activities, contributing to a greener and more inclusive university.
