The session was opened by Francisco Cabrillo RodríguezProfessor Emeritus of the Complutense University of Madrid, who began a reading that also included a few words of welcome from the Dean of the FCEE, Miguel CuerdoNext, readers from all groups within the university took over: teaching and research staff, technical and administrative staff, students, catering staff, security personnel and management assistants, among others.
The reading proceeded uninterrupted throughout the day, with great fluidity and impeccable coordination, allowing for a brisk and engaging pace throughout the activity. In the afternoon session, the initiative was joined by the rector, who visited and participated in the event. abraham duarte, who wanted to join in this celebration.
Beyond its academic and cultural value, this activity has served as a space for colleagues to reconnect and has strengthened cohesion among the various members of the university community. The public reading has allowed participants to engage with a fundamental work of Adam Smith's economic thought while sharing a collective experience centered on books, words, and fellowship.
