The book, El Centenario del Turismo, comprises 500 pages on the history of the tourism sector, in which 34 chapters address all the sectors and groups that make up the sector and their importance for the Spanish economy; and tribute has been paid to the protagonists through the presentation of the medals consecrated under the same name. Carmen de Pablos has contributed to the creation of value in tourism through train transport. The Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the URJC has also received a medal for the contribution of María Sotelo, Professor of Human Geography at the University, to the history of foreign destinations.

This special edition has been attended by 35 prominent authors, professors and lecturers from 25 Spanish Universities from the 17 Autonomous Communities, with a marked leadership in tourism, and more than fifty businessmen and managers from the Sector, who have contributed with their sponsorship to the publication of this work, starting with Ávoris, Air Europa and Novotel, which was the venue for the presentation gala of the work and recognition of the protagonists.
