The Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the Rey Juan Carlos University received an institutional visit from Professor Carlos Andrés García Velásquez, Dean of the Faculty of Law - Southwest Region of the Andean Area University Foundation (Colombia). The meeting aimed to explore areas of academic cooperation in the area of ​​student exchanges, both undergraduate and graduate, and to facilitate joint research stays in the areas of law and international relations.

Madrid, 30 June 2025. – The Faculty of Law and Political Sciences (FCJP) of the Rey Juan Carlos University received an institutional visit from Professor Carlos Andrés García Velásquez, Dean of the Faculty of Law - Southwest Region of the Andean Area University Foundation (Colombia). The meeting aimed to explore areas of academic cooperation in the area of ​​student exchanges, both undergraduate and graduate, and to facilitate joint research stays in the areas of law and international relations.

Dean María Enciso Alonso-Muñumer and Vice Dean of Research and International Relations Vicente Garrido Rebolledo participated in the meeting, highlighting the strategic importance of this visit to strengthen international academic relations between the two institutions.

During the meeting, Dean María Enciso stated: "This visit reflects our firm commitment to internationalizing the education we offer at our Faculty. The Andean Area is a leading institution in Colombia, and we are convinced that collaborating closely on academic programs and exchanges will significantly enrich the training and experience of our students and faculty."

For his part, Professor Carlos Andrés García Velásquez expressed his satisfaction with the potential of this cooperation: "For the Andean Area University Foundation, this is a valuable opportunity to strengthen ties with an institution like the Rey Juan Carlos University, which stands out for its academic excellence and international reach. We look forward to implementing initiatives that benefit our academic communities and strengthen cooperation between Europe and Latin America in the fields of law and international relations."

Finally, Vice Dean Vicente Garrido Rebolledo emphasized: "We are convinced that this relationship will provide concrete opportunities to develop joint research projects, as well as to promote the international mobility of our faculty and students, providing fundamental added value to their professional and personal development."

This initial meeting marks the beginning of a promising collaboration between both educational institutions, aimed at fostering academic excellence, international cooperation, and cultural exchange between Spain and Colombia.
