On April 17, 2023, the simulation of the Madrid City Council was inaugurated in the Assembly Hall of the Library of the Campus de Vicálvaro promoted by the Student Association of Parliamentary Simulations (ASESP), replicating political groups and giving great relevance to the role of the press.

Parliamentary simulations allow participants to improve their skills to speak and argue in public efficiently. ASESP has been organizing parliamentary simulations for 5 years. In fact, from the ASESP they have already emulated the Catalan chamber, the United States Congress or the Parliament of the Italian Republic, among other legislative assemblies, on other occasions.

Now they have just done the same with the Madrid consistory and for this the participants have assumed the role of a councilor of a party that emulates the parties represented in the consistory and have had to carry out legislative proposals, amend those presented by other representatives and appear before the media.

Similarly, 4 work commissions were established to replicate the activity of the Madrid City Council: Emergencies; Family, Equality and Social Well-being, Finance and, finally, Environment and Mobility.

The inauguration was attended by:

- Ms. Ms. Silvia Saavedra; Third Deputy Mayor of Madrid.

- Ms. María Carballo Gutiérrez, General Director of SIAYM.

- Mr. Pablo Fernández de Casadevante Mayordomo; Vice Dean of Students and University Extension.

- Mr. D. Fco. Javier Arias Varona; Vice Dean of Postgraduate and Own Degrees.

- Ms. Mercedes Alda Fernández; Professor of the Area of Political Science and Administration.
