Madrid, March 5, 2025 – The Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC) and the ICAM-Cortina Foundation have signed a collaboration agreement to strengthen the activities developed within the framework of the URJC Legal Clinic, a practical learning space that connects students with social reality and the practice of law in its most committed aspect.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dean of ICAM, Eugenio Ribón, the Vice-Rector for Campus Community, Culture and Sport, Mercedes del Hoyo Hurtado, the Dean of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences, María Enciso Alonso-Muñumer, Y de Martha Albert, Director of the URJC Legal Clinic, who highlighted the importance of this alliance for the training of future lawyers and their involvement in access to justice for the most vulnerable groups.
An agreement to strengthen the social impact of law
La URJC Legal Clinic, which since its creation has maintained a close collaboration with the Illustrious Bar Association of Madrid (ICAM), takes a further step in its evolution by formalizing this new agreement with the ICAM-Cortina Foundation. Thanks to this initiative, URJC students will be able to work alongside volunteer lawyers from the Foundation, participating in projects with social impact and defending the rights of people in vulnerable situations.
During the signing, Maria Enciso Alonso-Muñumer He stressed the importance of this agreement within the mission of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences:
"This agreement reinforces our commitment to legal training that goes beyond the classroom, connecting our students with the practice of law and with the social responsibility that our profession entails. Thanks to the collaboration with the ICAM-Cortina Foundation, we will be able to continue promoting initiatives that not only benefit our students, but also generate a real impact on society."
For its part, Martha Albert, Director of the Legal Clinic, highlighted the importance of experiential learning in the training of future lawyers:
"The Legal Clinic allows our students to develop a critical and committed perspective on social justice. With this agreement, we consolidate a support network in which the University, the ICAM-Cortina Foundation and volunteer lawyers work together to provide assistance in causes of great social relevance."

With this alliance, the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences of the URJC reaffirms its role as a space for educational innovation and social commitment. The Legal Clinic is consolidated as a key tool for students to experience Law in action, participating in real cases and learning from professionals with extensive experience.
