The FCJP successfully holds the Conference on Financial Education and the Deposit Guarantee Fund

The Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC), in collaboration with the Deposit Guarantee Fund (FGD), held today a highly successful conference entitled "Financial Education and the FGD: Bank Customer Security."

Madrid, March 20, 2025.- The Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC), in collaboration with the Deposit Guarantee Fund (FGD), held today a highly successful conference entitled "Financial Education and the FGD: Bank Customer Security." This activity is part of the Financial Education Plan promoted by the Bank of Spain, the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business.

The event featured prominent speakers such as Ana Lillo, Legal Director of the FGD, and Marisa Marcilla, Senior Analyst at the same organization, who explained in detail the importance of the Deposit Guarantee Fund in ensuring the protection and security of bank customers.

The opening ceremony was presided over by the Vice Dean of Academic Planning, Faculty, and Curriculum, Francisco Javier Arias Varona, along with Professor Rita María Freire Costas, Coordinator of the Final Degree Project, the RAC (Research and Development Unit), and the event's instigator and coordinator. Both emphasized the importance of financial education as a key tool for responsible and informed personal financial management.

The session, held in the Assembly Hall of the Departmental Building on the Vicálvaro Campus, brought together numerous students and faculty members who filled the capacity and actively participated, demonstrating great interest in the topics discussed.

With this initiative, Rey Juan Carlos University reaffirms its commitment to financial education, which is essential for strengthening the comprehensive training of its students, future professionals capable of making responsible financial decisions in an increasingly complex economic environment.
