On April 23, the "Professional Opportunities Conference in the Field of Security and Defense" was held at the Vicálvaro Campus. It was organized by the Francisco Villamartín Chair of Defense Studies and directed by Professor Dr. Vicente Garrido Rebolledo.

The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Professor Dr. María Enciso Alonso-Muñumer, who highlighted the importance of such events in introducing students to the various career options offered by the security and defense sector, both nationally and internationally.

The event was structured into two panels. The first was dedicated to Spanish security and defense agencies, featuring representatives from the Civil Guard, the National Police Force, and the Armed Forces, who shared their professional experience and detailed the recruitment and career development processes within their respective institutions.

The second panel brought together experts from think tanks, former NATO officials, and former United Nations officials, who offered a global perspective on career opportunities in the fields of international security, strategic analysis, and multilateral cooperation.

The event was a resounding success, attracting a large number of students. Gonzalo Galván, a third-year student of the Bachelor's Degree in International Relations, emphasized that "events like this are necessary to help us decide what decision to make after completing the degree; they often present us with opportunities we hadn't even considered."

The Faculty of Law and Political Sciences highly values the development of these activities, which are essential for providing career guidance to students and strengthening ties between the university and institutions in the sector.
