The FCJP of the Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC) is proud to announce that Civil Law professor Javier López-Galiacho Perona has been recognized as a Favorite Son of Castilla-La Mancha. This recognition, granted by the Governing Council of the Regional Government, is part of the Regional Day celebrations, which will take place on May 31 at the Albacete Conference Center.
Born in Albacete, Professor López-Galiacho holds a PhD in Law cum laude from the Complutense University of Madrid and has been a member of the URJC teaching staff since 2002, where he teaches Civil Law. His academic career is complemented by outstanding work in the business world, serving as Director of Compliance and Sustainability for the FCC Group, Chairman of its Corporate Compliance Committee, and member of the ESG Committee of the Board of Directors of FCC Environmental.
In addition to his teaching and business work, López-Galiacho has demonstrated a firm commitment to culture and heritage. He is the founder and president of the National Association of Friends of Historic Theaters of Spain (AMIThE), where he has led initiatives for the preservation of iconic performing arts venues, such as the Teatro Circo de Albacete. His intellectual output includes numerous research papers on civil law, good corporate governance, sustainability, and business ethics.
This recognition adds to Professor López-Galiacho's other recent achievements, such as his induction into the Royal European Academy of Doctors in April 2024 as a full member, where he presented the speech "Sustainability and Business Ethics: From Stories to Accounts." .
