Research Ethics Committee

Scientific activity at the Rey Juan Carlos University is carried out in accordance with the rules and provisions that regulate research and protect the procedures and actions of the PDI. For such purposes, the Research Ethics Committee guarantees compliance with the regulations and regularly updates the corresponding regulations.

The Research Ethics Committee may urge the regional authorities to proceed with the precautionary suspension of the authorized research in cases in which the requirements established by current legislation have not been observed and it is necessary to protect the rights of the research subjects. citizens.

REPORT OF THE BIOETHICS COMMITTEE OF SPAIN ON THE ETHICAL-LEGAL REQUIREMENTS IN RESEARCH WITH HEALTH DATA AND BIOLOGICAL SAMPLES IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Recommendations limited to the ethical-legal evaluation on the secondary use of data and samples in the context of the pandemic are collected for those studies whose purpose is the retrospective analysis of data and biological samples obtained on the occasion of the care of patients with Covid-19. XNUMX and, also, those related to the pandemic itself and its end, to evaluate diagnostic methods, risk profiles, prognostic markers and response to preventive and/or therapeutic measures or interventions.
The report does not address prospective studies of data and samples or clinical trials, as it is understood that the ethical-legal requirements required in such cases are included in the usual legal system.
