Essays/Services offered
The Electronic and Television Image Research Laboratory (Liite) was created in 2006 as an infrastructure for research applied to the social sciences and communication research. The Liite was promoted by the Group for Advanced Communication Studies (Geac) within the framework of the Department of Communication Sciences 2. From the beginning, its priority objectives have been to carry out research projects linked to the Geac and the offer of services (equipment and research advice) to any research group or external company that may require them.
Users of the Liite can be both academic staff from the Rey Juan Carlos University and researchers from other universities, official bodies, companies and individuals, interested in requesting its services and providing research activities, or who request the rental of its infrastructures to carry out their own Projects.
The Liite wishes to offer its research infrastructure to the following main agents of scientific knowledge production:
- consolidated research groups,
- academic observatories of social reality,
- research groups that participate in R&D projects financed in public calls,
- research staff in the process of writing a doctoral thesis
- individual investigators
- organizations and companies outside the university
In this sense, the Liite offers an applied social sciences laboratory, which brings together the most advanced and complex computer equipment and applications in the social and communicative research sector. The diversity of benefits and the research infrastructures that make them possible is due to the fact that Liite forms part of the network of laboratories of the Rey Juan Carlos University –RedLabu– as an applied research laboratory. As a member of the network, it is a beneficiary of the infrastructure programs of the Community of Madrid (PRICIT) and of the Feder Funds of the European Union.

To determinate
The Liite has established four types of rates applied to the benefits and services offered to researchers: Rate 1 for Private Companies or Individuals, Rate 2 for Official Organizations and other Universities, Rate 3 for Research Groups or Dartamentos. of the URJC, Rate 4 for the Department of Communication Sciences 2 (free of charge for those who do not have a subsidized research project).
Access to the service
The hours of use of audiovisual and electronic equipment, in general, will be from 8:00 a.m. to 21:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, on school days.
The hourly distribution of the use of the facilities and equipment will be carried out by the management (director, deputy director) of the laboratory, or by the person to whom this function is delegated.
The Laboratory will remain closed during the month of August and the temporary periods that the management determines for the realization of inventories of material, the installation of equipment or its repair.
The researchers who make up the Laboratory's management team will have free access to the Liite.
Users of the Liite will be the researchers, research groups and personnel of external companies that approve and validate the address of the Liite.
The access of any research user to the equipment will be carried out through the request for equipment presented by the user researcher, the research group or the external company (a form is attached to this document). Said request will be presented to the laboratory's management team and will indicate the use of equipment, the requested schedule and the form of payment (if applicable) of the requested service.
The management will notify the applicant of the access privileges and will notify the service assistants of the Fuenlabrada Campus Library Building of the access permit. Each researcher must notify their entry and exit from the Liite to the service assistants who will record the presence of the researcher.
If any equipment has been contributed to the Laboratory under a research project, the members of the Research Group that made said contribution will always have preference in its use.
