"With the recent creation of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences, we begin a new journey at the Rey Juan Carlos University, which will require the effort of all of us who integrate it to make it a modern, efficient, plural faculty committed to our society" Maria Encino has pointed out.

María Enciso Alonso-Muñumer (Valladolid, 1967) studied Law at the Complutense University of Madrid, graduating in 1990. In 2001 she completed the doctoral program at the URJC and began to be an active part of the institution.

Currently, Enciso is a professor of Commercial Law at the URJC and has been the coordinator of the Academic Section of Legal Sciences. In addition, she has been the director of the Master's Degree for Access to the Legal Profession at the same university. Her entire academic career has been developed at the URJC and she has held various positions that have given her experience and knowledge of university management and teaching. As such, she has taught classes in various degrees, double degrees and master's degrees, becoming a recognized teacher.

Enciso began as a tenured professor of Commercial Law at the URJC in 2004, at the same time that she combined the academic branch with the legal profession. In 2009 she joined ONTIER, an important law firm, in which she holds the position of Academic Consultant. In 2017 she assumed the position of delegate of the Rector for the relations of society and companies of the URJC and in 2018 she was appointed professor.

Finally, the rector Javier Ramos has dedicated a few words of admiration to the new dean. “I can affirm that the professional competence of María Enciso is undoubtedly outstanding. I want to highlight three virtues of my friend María: generosity, intelligence and ambition. I believe that these three characteristics are the best baggage for her to face the challenge of launching a new faculty”.

With all this, the new Faculty faces several challenges such as adapting undergraduate and postgraduate studies to the new European regulations, meeting the demands of digital innovation and bringing the University closer to the realities and demands of society.
