The ceremony brought together hundreds of professionals from the public and private security sector and was attended by prominent figures from institutions such as the National Police, the Civil Guard and the Department of National Security. The evening's aim was to highlight the achievements and commitment of the professionals who guarantee security in Spain.

Within the framework of 37th edition of the International Safety Trophies, José Márquez Tejón has received the prestigious Research Activity (R&D) Trophy for his doctoral research, developed at URJC, in the field of corporate security and organizational resilience. The award, presented by General Fernando Mora Moret, head of the first zone of the Civil Guard, recognizes the importance and relevance of a work that highlights risk management in listed companies operating in Spain.

The work was directed by Diana Benito and Montserrat Jiménez, professors in the Business Organization area at the URJC. The research stands out for its innovation and strategic approach, addressing key aspects for the protection of critical infrastructures and the strengthening of business resilience in an environment characterized by constant challenges. This recognition underlines the importance of research and development as fundamental pillars in the evolution of the security sector.

During her speech, Loreto Gutiérrez Hurtado, director of the Department of National Security, recalled that security is a collective heritage and a shared responsibility. Likewise, Miguel Sánchez, president of the Technical Advisory Council of Seguritecnia, highlighted the close collaboration between the public and private sectors in Spain, which serves as an international benchmark.

José Márquez Tejón has around 35 years of experience in the field of security, specializing in occupational risks, fraud, leadership and criminology. He currently works as Global Head of Security Risks & Resilience at Naturgy Energy Group.
