And then what? From university to the professional world.

And then what? From university to the professional world. And then what? From university to the professional world.

The URJC is holding the third edition of these sessions, which will take place on October 22nd on the Madrid campus and will be aimed at students from the Faculty of Communication Sciences (FCCOM).

Ginés Miñano

On this occasion, the conference "And then what? From university to the professional world" will feature five professionals from the field of press and television information: Miguel Muñoz, Irene Zugasti, Fran López Galán, Iera Herranz, and José Luis Vidal.

Guidance for accessing the labor market

The speakers will explain to students "what happens from your 20s to your 40s" in a personal way, drawing on their own experience to indicate the next steps after completing their degree.

Students will witness the professional development of journalists who have been in the industry for more than 15 years.

An optimistic message

These workshops aim to provide a positive perspective for students, who are aware of the high level of competition and the need to acquire appropriate training adapted to the constant changes in this field, such as the implementation of AI in the journalistic process.

Juan Martín, a professor at the FCCOM, emphasizes that these workshops "are intended to show the journey of what happens after university; there is life after graduation." He also adds that the goal is "to boost student morale and show them that we can overcome all changes. We will try to teach students how to react to pitfalls and 'rookie mistakes,' as well as how to always choose a program that contributes to and contributes to their professional goals."

Focus on journalism

This edition focuses on the Journalism degree, featuring professionals from all areas of the industry. Martín points out that "the main novelty is the focus on very different profiles within journalism, to examine the difficulties faced by people studying this degree and who work between communications and journalism." After each presentation, students will be able to interact with the speakers, asking questions about their careers, and gaining a realistic and contextualized view of the industry. RACC credits will be awarded for student attendance. To register for these sessions, click here. here.
