Investiture ceremony for 105 new Doctors

After the arrival of the delegation and the performance of the University Choir, which performed "Veni Creator Spiritus", the Rector, Abraham Duarte, opened the session at 16:00 pm.

Following this, Jesús Miguel Seoane Sepúlveda took the floor and delivered the Laudation as the new Doctors' sponsor. The Rector then declared them invested with the dignity of a doctorate, and each one was called by the General Secretary to approach the presidential table where their sponsor and the Director of the EID, María Luz Martín Peña, were seated.

The Rector presented them with their doctoral medals and mortarboards and embraced them as new colleagues. Notably, two deaf individuals, Iván Vázquez Villar and Susana Bena Villaseñor, are applying for doctoral degrees at URJC this year. Following this, the extraordinary doctoral awards were presented.

In closing, the Rector, after congratulating all the graduates, emphasized the importance of “your doctoral theses, as you know, you have achieved a clear advancement in science. Congratulations on this extraordinary accomplishment, which I want to share with your friends, families, and partners. Today you have achieved the highest level of education; you can be nothing less than Doctors. It is important to feel proud, but never forget that life always teaches us that, even after attaining this highest academic distinction, we must always be willing to learn.”
