The event, organized by the URJC Business & Investment Club, took place last Wednesday in the auditorium of the library on the Madrid campus, in Vicálvaro.

The BIC, a university association that aims to bring the working world closer to students and serves as a bridge to the areas of investment, accounting, marketing and entrepreneurship, through testimonials and analysis from professionals in the financial sector, has organized the Investor Fest, a meeting dedicated to saving, investment and financial education for students.

This association is primarily interested in three fields: investment, which focuses on stock portfolio analysis; business, which focuses on consulting and participation in events; and marketing, which manages business matters.

Lucas García, vice president of the investment area of BICLucas García explains that “Investor Fest is mainly attended by students in related fields, such as accounting, finance, business administration, and law, but it is aimed at all students from different degree programs, since its main objective is to provide financial education to all university students.” He mentions as an example “participants in the event who are studying pharmacy or engineering.”

This event is presented as an enriching initiative, bringing together members from different universities, fostering networking in the financial field, and disseminating the various programs offered by the Business & Investment Club association through its social media profiles and WhatsApp communities.

Three different approaches

The first speaker was Miguel Valenzuela, a teacher of financial courses and a founding partner of Iter PartnersValenzuela, a firm specializing in business development and M&A consulting, presented a project focused on business transformation and family businesses without generational succession, emphasizing how its investors work to guarantee the continuity of these types of businesses.

Next, Javier Jerez, general manager of Ben OldmanA specialist in pharmaceutical credit explained the fundamentals of financial risk and how psychology influences investment decisions, using a clear and accessible approach for the students. She also shared how she obtained her CFA certification during her Master of Business Administration, as an example of advanced training in finance.

To close the day, Ramiro Iglesias, CEO and co-founder of CrescentaHe recounted his journey from Wall Street to the creation of his own Private Equity fund, highlighting the role of fintech innovation and his mission to bring investment opportunities to a wider audience.
