Being among the finalists for the @aslan awards seems to be a regular occurrence for Rey Juan Carlos University. In this case, the selected project is titled 'Safe Assessment Environments' and has been developed with the support of Dell Technologies.

This initiative has now been ranked among the top three in the Strategic Digital Transformation and Organizational Modernization category. The nominee states that “the proposal involves implementing a comprehensive, secure virtual assessment system based on proctoring tools and access restriction technologies that ensure a controlled environment even when using computers and specialized software.” They add that “the initiative addresses three key challenges: the need to fully virtualize online degrees, the emergence of generative AI that makes fraud control more difficult, and the growing demand for open environments for active learning methodologies.” The project, they conclude, “will improve efficiency, reduce operating costs, decrease fraud, and offer an academic experience better adapted to the digital world. URJC is thus positioning itself as an innovative institution, capable of integrating advanced technology to guarantee the quality and integrity of its assessment processes.”

Rey Juan Carlos University competes in this category with institutions such as the University of Murcia and the Port Authority of Valencia.

The URJC already won the award in 2021 and 2022 and has been a finalist in four of the last five editions.

Recognition of success stories

The awards, organized by the @aslan Association, recognize successful cases of Digital Transformation in the Public Administration in Spain and the efforts of those responsible for leading them to provide better services to citizens, improve efficiency and optimize costs.

The 2025 edition received 77 initiatives from 61 public administrations and bodies, demonstrating a high degree of implementation of the Next Generation EU Funds. “As the surveys periodically conducted by the @aslan Association already indicated, the megatrends of Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation, and 5G have been present across many of the projects submitted, with improved efficiency, cost savings, and optimization of services provided to citizens as shared objectives,” the association stated.

The selection of the three finalist projects in each category was carried out through an open and transparent process in which member companies and the Public Administration Relations Committee participated with their votes. Voting is now open to web users at www.aslan.es/PremiosAAPPThe winning projects will be announced at the Awards Gala on March 18, as part of the #ASLAN2025 Congress.
