A group of about 70 first-year students of the Degree in Digital Communication from Faculty of communication sciences (FCCOM) has visited the headquarters of Mapfre within the framework of an academic activity linked to the subject of Corporate Communication.
The activity, organized by Professor Ramiro Díaz-Maroto Oro along with the participation of Professor of Advertising Esther Martínez Pastor, both professors of the degree, had the objective of bringing students closer to the professional environment and facilitating direct knowledge of the dynamics and communication strategies in a large company.
During the day, various Mapfre professionals gave presentations covering the company's strategic plan, as well as aspects related to brand management and corporate communication. Among the topics discussed was the company's recent rebranding process, which allowed students to understand the elements involved in redefining the corporate identity, its implementation, and its projection across different communication channels.
The interventions also delved into issues such as the coherence of corporate discourse, the relationship with stakeholders and the current challenges of business communication in a digital environment; contextualizing the theoretical content of the subject within real and current cases through this approach.
An enriching learning experience
The visit is part of the training activities that seek to complement classroom teaching through direct contact with active professionals, and which are promoted by the DIGICOMLabThe Professional Projects Laboratory of the Degree in Digital Communication. This type of experience provides students with a broader vision of career paths and the skills required in the field of communication, helping to reinforce their learning process.
Through this meeting, the students have experienced a real approach to the business world, being able to learn and experience firsthand how strategic brand communication is managed in a leading IBEX35 company such as Mapfre.
