Under the motto 'Global challenges, local solutions: doctoral research as an engine of change', the International Doctoral School The URJC is organizing its EID Congress once again this year. As María Luz Martín Peña, director of the School, states, “the congress is framed within a particularly significant context for doctoral research, at a time when the generation and transfer of knowledge are acquiring a central role in scientific, social and economic progress.”
Likewise, the professor of Business Organization also pointed out that “within the framework of doctoral studies as the third cycle of university education, events such as the doctoral congress constitute a valuable opportunity to showcase their work, foster academic dialogue, and strengthen the research community.” Furthermore, “this event represents a space for collective learning and network building,” added Martín Peña.
This seminar, now in its sixth edition, has established itself as a space for meeting and discussion among researchers, supervisors, and doctoral students. Furthermore, it also serves as a forum for exchanging experiences related to the doctoral research process. In this sense, the true purpose of immersion in a doctoral program is the generation of new knowledge with the capacity to transform disciplines, institutions, and society as a whole.
Throughout the symposium, doctoral students from various universities will present papers and posters related to their doctoral thesis research topics. These presentations will be organized around the following branches of knowledge: social sciences and law, sciences, health sciences, engineering and architecture, and finally, arts and humanities.
In short, in the words of the head of the EID, it is "a manifestation of the International Doctoral School's commitment to quality, collaboration and the projection of our programs."
