Amancio López Seijas receives the URJC Medal of Honor

This morning, Rey Juan Carlos University awarded its Medal of Honor to Amancio López Seijas in recognition of his eight years of service as head of the institution's Social Council. The award was presented during the solemn ceremony of Saint Thomas Aquinas, presided over by the Rector of URJC, Abraham Duarte; the Secretary General, Marta Albert; and the current President of the Social Council, Clemente González.

During the ceremony, Abraham Duarte offered words of gratitude to the honoree, highlighting his decisive contribution to strengthening the bond between the university and society: “We address Mr. Amanacio López Seijas, who today receives the University's Medal of Honor, after having served with extraordinary dedication as president of the Social Council for the last eight years.”

Furthermore, the rector took the opportunity to highlight Amancio López's professional career as founder and president of Hotusa GroupDuarte described López Seijas as “an inspiring role model for students,” demonstrating that great projects are built on solid values ​​such as perseverance, hard work, and the ability to adapt to changing environments.

For his part, Amancio López pointed out that “universities must be ethical, ethical, responsible, and committed to society, as they have much to contribute to the business world and to the fields of research and innovation.” In this regard, the honoree took the opportunity to remind everyone that “it’s important to know your limits,” adding that “with enthusiasm, courage, and bravery, it’s possible to overcome any difficulty.”

With this Medal of Honor, the highest distinction awarded by the Rey Juan Carlos University, the dedication, transformative drive and contribution of Amancio López Seijas to the development and projection of the University during his presidency of the Social Council are recognized.
