The aim of this ranking is to increase the visibility of women researchers through free, publicly accessible platforms such as Google Scholar, ORCID, and OpenAlex.

The former refers to the total number of times a researcher's publications have been cited in other works, while the h-index measures how many of an author's publications have been cited at least that same number of times.
The Rey Juan Carlos University has 123 researchers present in this ranking: 119 with main affiliation to the university and 4 with shared affiliation.
Pilar Carrasco Garrido is the highest-ranked researcher at URJC in this field. rankingHer area of work focuses on Public Health and Pharmacoepidemiology, and she leads the Consolidated Research Group in Drug Epidemiology (RESEPMED).

Furthermore, I believe that these distinctions contribute to strengthening the institution, as they increase its visibility and prestige both nationally and internationally,” says Pilar Carrasco.
The researcher also believes it is necessary to continue promoting the presence of women in scientific leadership positions within the university. “Women appear as principal investigators in only 33% of competitive research projects. This figure reflects the gender imbalances that still exist in relation to women's leadership capacity,” she emphasizes.
The prominent presence of the URJC in this ranking It highlights the growing importance of research conducted by women within the university and reinforces the institutional commitment to equality and scientific excellence.
