During the past 4th and 5th of October, the First Symposium on Medicalized Air Transport of the Spanish Society of Emergency and Emergency Medicine (SEMES) was held at the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Alcorcón Campus. It has been attended by health professionals related to critical patient care from all areas of the country.

Within the activities of the symposium, there have been multiple workshops focused on assistance in mountain rescue, maritime survival, preparation of the critical patient for flight, Advanced Life Support, assistance to intentional incidents, etc. Where the attendees have been able to receive training from experts in these matters with the support of air and land resources.

The presentations have had professionals from both the national and international spheres, and they have shared their experiences on the transport of critically ill patients, air safety and different care developments regarding this type of care.

According to the organizing committee, the level and participation have been a success and the extensive support and collaboration work that has always been carried out by the URJC in this type of event has been recognized.

The appearance of some aircraft within the Campus has been a source of surprise for the university community of Alcorcón that has been able to visit, during these days, some of the means of air transport.

The objective of this appointment is none other than to expose and compare the different techniques already established and to provide possible lines of work for the future, with strategies that improve the quality of these resources.

In order to carry out this project, SEMES has had, in addition to the collaboration of the URJC, Atlantic Emergency, a company dedicated to advising and training in self-protection plans.
