Basic Information

Presentation

The digital transformation has turned companies into generators of a multitude of audiovisual content that is disseminated through the Internet and social networks, mainly YouTube. Brands have become storytellers competing for the attention of audiences eager for images and information. Companies demand experts in the creation of these audiovisual stories, which is the language of the Internet (storytellers).

At the same time, a large number of production and distribution platforms for fiction and non-fiction audiovisual content have been successfully launched, but always scripted: Netflix, Filmin, Movistar, HBO, etc., which are added to the multitude of channels that are broadcast on Digital Terrestrial Television.

Lastly, the video game sector has evolved and will continue to evolve hand in hand with virtual reality and calls for professionals who create universes and characters that are increasingly complex and diverse, allowing the versions of successful games to be multiplied. Not to go further in time and talk about robots linked to entertainment, what today are very primary robot-dogs, in a few years they will be androids capable of interacting with a human.

El Online Master in Audiovisual Script and Videogames It is aimed at graduates or graduates of any specialty, preferably studies related to digital humanities and communication, who are looking for comprehensive training in creative writing.

To do this, the structure of the master's degree reflects the four creative branches in which the current writing professional can develop their work and which are developed through the different subjects and workshops, in three modules throughout the course:

  • Fiction: Film and TV script (series, webseries, entertainment formats.).
  • Advertising Creativity: video clips, television spots, trailers, sponsorship, static, interactive, product placement.
  • StorytellingAudiovisual <strong>postproduction and matching</strong> for business communication: health, insurance, finance, automotive, food, perfumery and cosmetics, fashion, and cultural and entertainment industries.
  • Video Games.

The student will receive training in the four areas, but from the second module (of the three that make up the master's degree) they will receive a specialization.

The three modules are:

  • Module A: Introduction to audiovisual digital writing
  • Module B: Strategic creativity, audiovisual narrative and storytelling
  • Module C: Screen cultures and virtual reality.

Objectives

Offer theoretical and practical training to train specialized scriptwriters in the field of cinema and TV, documentaries, corporate communication, advertising creativity and video games.

We want to train a type of professional who is capable of developing their own ideas or those coming from others (audiovisual production companies, television networks, companies of all kinds with communication needs, videogames, publishing companies, media agencies, etc.) in any audiovisual environment and/or communicative. In other words, audiovisual professionals who not only learn more or less useful and proven manual narrative techniques, but are also capable of promoting and incorporating new organizational forms and experimental practices necessary in an audiovisual model that is constantly being redefined. A professional who, although he could already carry out his work today, is actually a pioneering profile with which we anticipate the needs of the digital audiovisual industry in the short and medium term.

For this, in addition to a solid humanistic training and creative writing technique, a professional profile is required that shows the ability to develop the same idea or story in different media and distribution windows, both locally and globally, contributing creativity to development. from the specific audiovisual product, to its multimedia expansion and combining it with a vision of business and industrial management, either as individual entrepreneurs, as a start-up, or as part of media conglomerates.

*The workshops of the second and third modules are split, that is, the student only attends one of these four workshops in each module according to the specialty selected. Therefore, for the purposes of the sum of ECTS, they only add 4 ECTS in each module.

Each of the three modules has 4-hour creative writing workshops that will be taught by active professionals and will develop practical exercises with the students. They will require prior preparation work by the student and feedback by the teacher. These workshops will be recorded and posted on the platform so that students who cannot travel have the opportunity to see them on a deferred basis.

Through the ability to convene the Editorial Unit, we will have screenwriters and writers from the relevant media. We already have the firm commitment of some relevant professionals such as Agustín Medina (advertising), Elías León Siminiani and Miguel Bardem (cinema), Loreto Gómez (digital marketing), Rubén Amón (cultural journalism) and others.

There will be external internships in different audiovisual companies and others with communication offices, etc.
