The prestigious Times Higher Education impact 'ranking', recently published and which analyzes the commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda of a total of 1.115 universities around the world, places the University Rey Juan Carlos among the 400 universities that pay the most attention to meeting these objectives.

This classification places the URJC as one of the universities most committed to the SDGs in the Community of Madrid. This international classification indicates that the university is the only one from Madrid that appears in all the 'ranked' SDGs.

In this sense, the 'ranking' establishes that the URJC is the only one from Madrid that appears in the following SDGs: 1, Eradication of Poverty; 2, Fight against hunger; 6, Potable Water and Sanitation; 12, Responsible Consumption; 14, Aquatic Flora and Fauna and 15, Terrestrial Flora and Fauna.

Significant improvement in 'Fight against Climate Change'

In SDG 13 (Fight against Climate Change), the URJC improves positions compared to the previous year, and is in position 70 worldwide, out of a total of 566 Universities participating in this SDG. In Spain, the URJC is in the top 9 of the universities. At this point, the sustainable use of energy in the institution has been measured and assessed, as well as the research carried out on climate change and, finally, how the university is preparing to face its consequences.

In SDG 16 (Peace and Justice), the Rey Juan Carlos University is in position 101-200 worldwide out of 653 universities participating in this SDG. This result also allows the URJC to be the 1st university in the Community of Madrid in this SDG.

There is also an improvement in SDG 17 (Revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development) by climbing positions compared to the previous year and ranking 201-300 out of 1154 world universities.

These data represent a boost for the initiative URJC 2030, which is part of the Strategic Plan of the University to become an international benchmark in the commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals
