The panel will include the participation of Antonio Zapatero, Deputy Minister of Public Health and COVID plan of the CAM and who is in turn a professor at the URJC and director of the Fuenlabrada hospital. Zapatero will present to the students the main lines of the strategy that is being carried out in the region and will unravel all its details.

On the other hand, Ángel Gil's intervention will deal with the current state of the vaccination plan in Spain. He will comment on the figures in our country and the possibility of achieving herd immunity soon. Finally, the conference will also feature the participation of Alberto Pardo, professor at the URJC Department of Medical Specialties and Public Health, who will be in charge of presenting the session.

In the words of Ángel Gil, the objective of this conference is “to learn more about the action strategy against COVID-19 and, above all, to emphasize that it must still be in force. Regarding the current epidemiological situation, he expressed “we still have a long way to go to achieve high vaccination coverage in the population and as long as this is the situation we must abide by prevention measures. We have to continue wearing masks and keeping the safety distance. I think we will have to maintain these measures until the end of the year.”

The conference will be held both in person and online. The speakers and a small group of students will be able to follow the conference from the Royal National Academy of Medicine. The rest of the interested parties will be able to follow the development of the conference through the television channel from RANME and by Zoom.
